What is concrete yield?
Concrete yield is the amount of usable mixed concrete produced or delivered compared with the measured project volume. For buyers, the practical check is measured yd3, waste, bag label yield, ticket yd3, returned concrete, and billable yards.
What is the concrete yield formula?
For a project, measured ft3 equals length x width x thickness in / 12, and measured yd3 equals ft3 / 27. Compare that with bag count x printed bag yield or with the ready-mix ticket volume after returned material.
Does the invoice prove how much concrete was delivered?
Not by itself. An invoice can include minimum billable yards, delivery fees, short-load fees, tax, returned-material charges, or minimum invoice rules. Use the ticket and field record for the yield check.
Why did my bags not make enough concrete?
Common causes are using a generic bag-size assumption instead of the product label, forgetting waste, rounding down, pouring thicker than planned, filling low base, or losing material during mixing and placement.
Can this prove a ready-mix supplier shorted the load?
No. The calculator organizes the math and records to review. Yield disputes need the delivery ticket, batch record review, measurements, photos, site conditions, and supplier or professional evaluation.
Is yield the same as waste factor?
No. Waste factor is a planning cushion before ordering. Yield reconciliation happens after bags are mixed or a truck arrives, when measured volume, expected output, returned material, and ticket lines must agree.
